Following its successful run in May of this year, at Bewley’s Café Theatre, and in July at The New Theatre, Temple Bar, The Confirmation Suit by Brendan Behan (adapted for the stage by Peter Sheridan) is heading to Cork and Kerry.  The tour kicks off in the Ionad Cultúrtha, Ballyvourney on Tuesday, November 7th, then on to Carnegie Arts Centre, Kenmare on the 8th, then Tech Amergin, Waterville on the 9th and finishing up in St John’s Theatre, Listowel on Friday the 10th.

Gary Cooke, well known to TV audiences for his Après Match impressions of another controversial character, Eamon Dunphy, narrates as Behan and “captures the author’s rollicking personality…boisterous…anarchic…bringing the entire story to life” (NMW) Having both worked together on the recent production of Meet The Quare Fellow, where Gary also played Behan, Peter and Gary feel something special happens when they combine with Behan’s work.

In The Confirmation Suit, Gary brings to life a wide array of Dublin characters which creates a “wonderful piece of theatre”  – (Red Curtain Review)
“Cooke Shines as Behan” – The Business Post
“Energy and entertainment never drop” – NoMoreWorkHorse
“Cooke excels as a rich cast of Dubliners” – The Arts Review
