Beidh oíche fhilíochta le Ailbhe Ni Ghearbhuigh agus Colm Breathnach, le ceol ó Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich in Ionad Cultúrtha an Dochtúir Ó Loingsigh, Baile Mhúirne ar an Aoine, 9ú Márta @ 8:30in. Saorchead isteach!

Ionad Cultúrtha an Dochtúir Ó Loingsigh, Baile Mhúirne will host a poetry night with Ailbhe Ni Ghearbhuigh and Colm Breathnach, and musical accompaniment by Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich on Friday, 9th March @ 8:30pm. Free admission!

Seo an tarna bhliain don gcamchuairt filíochta seo á reachtáil ag An Lab, Ionad Ealaíon na Gaeilge sa Daingean. I 2017 díríodh ar Chorca Dhuibhne agus na cathracha. I mbliana táthar ag tabhairt filí agus filíocht chomhaimseartha na Gaeilge ar fud na Mumhan, go Gaeltacht agus Galltacht araon. Anuas ar an gcéad léamh seo i mBaile Bhúirne, beidh léamhanna i Rinn ó gCuanach i Mí Aibreáin agus, níos déanaí i mbliana, ar Oileán Chléire agus i mbailte i gcontaetha An Chláir, Luimní agus Tiobrad Árainn.

This is the second year that this poetry tour has been organized by An Lab, Irish-Language Arts Centre in Dingle. In 2017 the tour concentrated on West Kerry and the cities. This year we are bringing contemporary Irish poets and poetry to locations throughout Munster. Following this first reading in Baile Bhúirne there will be a reading in April in Rinn Ó gCuanach in Waterford, and later in the year readings on Cape Clear, and in towns in counties Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.

Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh
Ciarraíoch í Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh. Tá a cuid filíochta léite aici i bPáras, i Nua Eabhrac, i Montréal agus ar an mBuailtín. Bhuaigh a dán ‘Deireadh na Feide’ Corn Uí Néill i 2012 agus roghnaíodh ‘Filleadh ar an gCathair’ mar Dhán Uachtarántacht an Aontais Eorpaigh i 2013. Bhain an dán céanna áit amach ar ghearrliosta RTÉ, ‘A Poem for Ireland’. D’fhoilsigh Coiscéim a céad chnuasach filíochta, Péacadh, i 2008 agus Tost agus Allagar i 2016. The Coast Road an teideal atá ar chnuasach dátheangach atá foilsithe ag an Gallery Press mar a bhfuil aistriúcháin le filí aitheanta an Bhéarla.

Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh was born in Kerry. She has read at festivals in New York, Paris, Montréal, Berlin and Ballyferriter. In 2012 her poem ‘Deireadh na Feide’ won the O’Neill Poetry Prize. ‘Filleadh ar an gCathair’ was chosen as Ireland’s EU Presidency poem in 2013 and was shortlisted in 2015 for RTE’s ‘A Poem for Ireland’. Coiscéim published her first book Péacadh (2008) and Tost agus Allagar (2016). A bilingual collection,The Coast Road, was published by The Gallery Press last year, with English translations by thirteen poets.

Colm Breathnach
I gCorcaigh a rugadh Colm. File, úrscéalaí agus aistritheoir liteartha é go bhfuil seacht gcinn de chnuasaigh filíochta, ar ghnóthaigh ceithre cinn acu an phríomhdhuais do chnuasach filíochta i gComórtais Liteartha an Oireachtais agus sa bhliain 1999 bhronn an Foras Cultúrtha Gael-Mheiriceánach ‘Duais an Bhuitléirigh’ air as a shaothar filíochta. Chaith sé tréimhsí ina scríbhneoir cónaithe sa tSín agus sa tSlóivéin agus bhí sé ina scríbhneoir cónaithe i gColáiste Phádraig, Droim Conrach in 2015. Is é Tírdhreacha (LeabhairCOMHAR, 2015), rogha théamúil dánta agus dánta nua maille le pictiúirí le Pól Ó Colmáin, an leabhar is déanaí uaidh.
Colm was born in Cork. He is a poet, novelist and literary translator. He has published seven collections of poetry, four of which have won the principal poetry prize at Conradh na Gaeilge’s annual Oireachtas literary competitions and in 1999 the Irish American Cultural Institute presented him with the Butler Literary Award in recognition of his poetry. He has had literary residencies in China and in Slovenia and in 2015 he was writer in residence in Saint Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. His latest book is Tírdhreacha (LeabhairCOMHAR, 2015), which includes a thematic selection and new poems, with illustrations by west Cork artist Pól Ó Colmáin.

Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich
Boscadóir agus amhránaí í Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich a rugadh agus tógadh i mBaile na bPoc i nGaeltacht Chorca Dhuibhne. Thosnaigh sí ag seimint an bhosca ceoil nuair a bhí sí ceithre mbliana d’aois. Tá sí tar éis bheith páirteach i go leor tograí agus taistil leis an gceol ó shin i leith. Tá camchuairteanna ceoil tugtha aici ar Meirice, Albain, Mór-roinn na hEorpa, An tSeapáin agus An Téaváin. Bhí sí ina cuid des na bannaí ceoil Solas agus Cuas, agus ghlac sí páirt sa mhórthogra ilealaíona ‘Aisling’ le leithéidí Máiréad Ní Mhaonaigh, Johnny Óg Connolly agus Caoimhín Ó Fearghaíl. D’eisigh sí an t-albam Cuisle i gcomhpháirt leis an ngiotáirí Matt Griffin, agus tá singil dá hamhrán féincumtha ‘Amhrán na nGael, díreach eisithe aici.

Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich is a box player and singer from Baile na bPoc in Corca Dhuibhne. She started playing the box at four years of age. She has taken part in many musical projects and travelled widely as a musician. She has toured in the US, Scotland, Continental Europe, Japan and Taiwan. She was a part of the bands Solas and Cuas and took part in the major multi-disciplinary project ‘Aisling’ with the likes of Máiréad Ní Mhaonaigh, Johnny Óg Connolly and Caoimhín Ó Fearghaíl. She recorded the album Cuisle with the guitarist Matt Griffin and has just released the self-composed song ‘Amhrán na nGael’ as a single.
